The aim of the conference is to create awareness on gender disparity
in land professional career and to promote women contributions for
realization of an inclusive and sustainable land governance in Africa.
The organizers of the Conference, that is International Federation of
Surveyors-Africa Regional Network (FIG-ARN), Network of Excellent on
Land Governance in Africa-East African node (NELGA-EA) and Ardhi

“Women Land Professionals and the Struggle for Inclusive Land
Governance in Africa: Reflections on the Past, Present, and the Future’.
The 1st African Women Land Professional Associations Conference shall
bring key stakeholders to interact and parley with women who are engaged
in various land professional callings across the 55 African countries.
Objectives of the Conference
- Historical Reflections: Understand the journey of women land
professionals in Africa, highlighting key milestones, challenges,
and opportunities
- Current Landscape: Analyze the present state of land governance
and the involvement of women professionals in policy-making,
administration, and advocacy.
- Future Pathways: Develop actionable strategies to enhance the
role and visibility of women in achieving gender responsive land
governance, ensuring inclusive access, and guaranteed rights to land
for all.
